Lucid State Designs: Kyle Nettles Is Turning First Coast Art Into Wearable Culture

Name: Kyle Nettles  |  Medium: Print and Apparel

Some artists paint. Some sculpt. Some shoot video. And some build the bridge that lets everybody’s art leave the wall and step into real life.

Kyle Nettles, founder of Lucid State Designs, works in print and apparel, helping creators transform their designs into shirts, merch, and custom products people actually want to wear, gift, and keep. His mission is simple: give artists the ability to turn their work into tangible, sellable pieces—without the headaches that usually come with production.

Inspiration

Kyle’s purpose is creator-first: to provide artists the ability to turn their art into apparel or custom merchandise. For Lucid State Designs, it’s not just printing—it’s amplification. It’s giving artists a pathway to get their work into the world in a form people can buy, wear, share, and keep.

Origin Story

Kyle has had this dream since 2016. He bought his domain and slowly branded the company over time. With a family print shop as his training ground, he learned the craft hands-on and built real experience behind the scenes.

This past year, he decided to put in the work and take off with his own business—turning years of preparation into momentum.

Favorite Part of the Creative Process

“I love talking to artists and brainstorming ideas with them to get exactly what they want.”

Favorite Piece So Far

Multicolor Flower of Life design

Kyle’s favorite piece he’s created so far is his multicolor Flower of Life design—featured on shirts and mouse pads. It’s a perfect example of what Lucid State Designs does best: bold color, clean execution, and a design that feels meaningful in everyday use.

Future Goals on the Bespoke Journey

Kyle’s goal is to be a huge part of Bespoke House. He wants to provide all members a 10% discount on their final sales, and he wants to help artists get exactly what they want more in person rather than only online.

How Bespoke House Has Inspired the Journey

Kyle is a Bespoke House member and recently became a Master Artisan—meaning Lucid State Designs now has its own studio at the house. As a growing business with big plans, Kyle says the first time he visited the Bespoke House, he knew he wanted to be part of it.

Being surrounded by like-minded people has motivated him to put more energy and time into growing Lucid State Designs, staying focused and building momentum alongside other active creators.

“Surround yourself by the people that are actively creating art.”

Kyle credits the Bespoke House environment as one of the biggest factors in his growth—seeing artists creating in real time inspired him to keep doing the same and stay consistent.
