Why Bespoke House Is Raising Funds to Launch Live/Work Residency Suites for the Creative Class

As Jacksonville continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: the need for affordable, stable spaces where artists and creators can live, work, and thrive. At Bespoke House, we’ve spent the past two years listening to the creative class — and now, we’re building the blueprint for what Jacksonville’s creative future can become.

We are currently raising funds to secure a 4.5-acre campus that will become the first permanent artisan campus in Jacksonville. At the heart of this vision are live/work residency suites — affordable housing built into a dynamic creative community that supports artistic growth, economic development, and cultural collaboration.

What We’re Building — With Your Help

If we meet our fundraising goal of $250,000, we plan to transform this campus into a hub of creativity and innovation. The residency suites will be one of the first major developments. These on-site living spaces will provide:

  • Affordable rent for working creatives
  • Personal studios and access to coworking space
  • Exhibition opportunities in on-campus galleries
  • Access to livestream production and creative consulting
  • Inclusion in events, workshops, and immersive experiences
  • A thriving peer community of artists, makers, and patrons

These suites will offer artists something they rarely have: stability, resources, and community — all in one place.

A Creative Answer to the Housing Crisis

We understand that affordable housing is a key barrier for many in the gig economy and creative industries. Our live/work suites will offer a sustainable, community-first solution — supporting both artistic freedom and economic security.

Residency participants will also have opportunities to offer workshops, collaborate on events, and monetize their work through gallery sales and streaming, creating a full-circle ecosystem of support.

Laying the Foundation for Jacksonville’s Creative Economy

This vision aligns with what the ACE Committee under Mayor Donna Deegan’s administration has outlined: Jacksonville is not lacking in talent — it's lacking infrastructure. Our proposed campus will be a grassroots response to those findings, establishing a creative city within the city that empowers artisans and fuels economic development through culture.

Through Stream University (our livestream and media production program), gallery exhibits, and artisan residencies, the new campus will become a hub for creation, connection, and commerce.
